Today has not turned out like I thought it would. Everything about headphones and Earphones that I've been told and or assumed has now been put out to dry. The Final Audio B3 is a $499 IEM. Can someone explain how in the world a $46 IEM, ZS10 Pro beat this product in overall sound quality? If you are in shock about this...join the club. I kept hearing about this IEM and for $46 I decided to pick it up( just to put my own nail in the coffin I guess) so i could go talk to others who supporter this product and tell them just how wrong they were. I just knew they just didn't know what they were talking about. I convinced myself that they just haven't had the experienced of a true $500 IEM. Cheaper can't beat expensive in audio, there is just no way this can happen, so I thought.
And what I thought was so far from the truth. This mere $46 IEM beat my $500 B3's in Sub-Bass, Treble, Volume, Imaging, and instrument separation. The B3's still won in looks, timbre and soundstage but that's where the buck stops. Now granted the B3's almost won in fit too until I put my spin fit Tips on the Zs10's. That made them disappear in my ears compared to the default tips that they shipped with. So, I just thought to myself..There is no way this cheap IEM should have ever won even two categories. So I'm sitting down with my head in my lap wondering what I should do. $400-$500 isn't the biggest amount but it's no joke. So to give away this amount when I could spend $46 and get equal or more sound quality in the majority of the categories is a big thing to leave on the table.
And on top of that the $46 gets me not 1, not 2, or 3 but 5 driver per side. So this explains how they beat the two diver setup of the B3's. But the cheaper ZS10 does show areas of cost cuts with its light plastic and steel plate vs all steel body of the B3. And at the end of the day nothing is perfect but I feel I might still be sending the B3s back. I just don't think I can any longer justify the high cost of this IEM when I have such quality from a $46 IEM that is just as good. And no the zs10 isn't perfect. The build and packaging show the cost cuts areas. The B3 is just a piece of art cut out of steel while the plastic body and a steel plate is the design of choice of the Zs10's. But at the end of the day the you still have sound quality that shouldn't beat or match the B3 from the Zs10's and yet it does and that weighs more for me from a $46 product stacked up against a $500 product. Maybe if the Zs10's were $300 and the B3's were $500 I could maybe start to understand things but not at $46 vs $500.
