I have seen it, tested it, and heard it all over and over again. So many people want to believe that somehow this $150 headphone couldn't possibly be the only thing that they need, when in fact it is. Trust me, I used to feel the same way too. I bought the Sundara's and the other Sennheiser 660's and all of them fall. I can't tell you how many times I have put these headphones away in the closet or tried to ship if off for an ebay sell. None of this worked ever. Time after time all I ended up doing was going straight back to the closet of cutting open the box I had sealed off just so I could get the 58x back out to listen to them yet again. $500 headphones like the 660s and Sundara should easily beat this $150 but it doesn't, at least not in the area that counts like Sound. Sure they may look better or more expensive but when it's all said and done they failed to beat or justify their cost difference and hype.
I mean I truly thought multiple times that the others that looked better and cost more were going to truly provide me better bass, better mids, better imaging, etc. But what happened was that in every category, the 58x either tied or defeated them. And for me... paying more to get the same results or weaker is just not acceptable. So every single time I ended up returning the more expensive, the more hyped headphone in favor of the 58x. It happened so many times that after this last time I have given up. I have listened to every single person but what is showing up in my face every single time. The 58x is just the headphone for me and my setup on my 789 and Dac. And just to be clear...my results aren't going to be yours more than likely because sound is subjectable. There are plenty of people that don't believe as I do and then there are some that have done this same thing and resulted in them holding on to the 58x over the same headphones I found them to be winners over as well. Mix bag and mix results, so you have to all your own story to be written about this subject. Don't let others write for you.
