EDC items are such a personal choice. It can never be the perfect choice for all people because it's so subjectable. Everything from color, to weight or even brands, are major factors in the choices people make about the EDC choices they have in their lives. For me, the efficiency of my carry is very important. They have to serve a purpose and they can't get in the way of my task. My Spyderco Sage 5 is the perfect Knife in my opinion. It has the slicing and dependable nature of the brand of Spyderco and their Compression lock system over things like an Axis lock Omega spring. It's speedy and very easy to deploy and retract. Next up is the Nitecore E4k! I absolutely love this Torch. This little Monster can hold its own against any Flashlight in the world today. At 4,400 lumens and only 4 inches in length, this flashlight is basically a modern miracle. Unlike other flashlights, this thing( thanks to the upgraded programming they did) is better at balance than anything I have ever seen. Other flashlights might have the ability to throw 4000 lumens but this can do 4,400 lumens. Other flashlights might have tail switches but this can tail stand which has saved my butt way more. This flashlight also has 2 lumen low mode while so others don't really make the lows past 35 lumens. This flashlight can also do over 11,000cd's while other flashlights on the market can't get past 8000cd's. It could stop there but it doesn't. It has a 211m distance throw in a flood floodlight setup design( as you can see below the spread and distance) and it completely shatters anything I've ever seen period much less at its size.
So then you have to ask yourself what about the longevity of such power? It's got to fail at these power temps. Well, try 50,000 hours of life span on this light. I would say this is enough to impress even some of the most hardcore flashlight users. It's water resistance up to 2 meters and drop-protected up to 2 meters as well. And if this isn't enough peace of mind...try a 5-year warranty to cover for your troubles. I mean, if you ask me this is truly outstanding. And for me, it's the best package I've seen "to date". The only thing this is missing is a tail switch in my opinion but this just means it's not perfect while others that do can't do what this does so you have to find what is important to you. So far this has been a fantastic combo!
