There is no small way to put things. I wasn't really blown away with the Blessings 2 dusk. Everyone I respected kept talking about them like they were the second coming of Christ. However, what I heard from them wasn't anywhere near the hype. I was told I needed to use smaller tips to get deeper insurgents from the IEM into my ears, so that's what I did. But this didn't result In a response that was justified in my opinion of the price tag. In fact, all my earphones sounded better than these upon my initial test. But instead of freaking ou,t I allow myself to think through my needed steps...source, fit, and tips.
And sure enough...the tips were the issues. Instead of seeking them to be deeper..I picked out the spin fits and found I only needed moderate insertion of the IEMs for a perfect seal. This gave my music body, clarity, tonality, timbre and proper sub-bass extension. The IEM started to show its brilliance and started to separate itself from the pack. I will admit that this fit was almost too much for the spin fit and therefore ties into some of the complaints about the nozzle beginning a little bigger than normal. This causes some small ear people not to be very happy in comfort for and is in fact how I got these well under the MRP cost of $315. It was a return from a person that loved everything about them except the fit. For me, the fit is perfect for me with the spin tips.
So with all that said the fact remains...Moondrop is probably the company that does the most with sound and price outside of the $40 KZ'S, which is the best deal on planet earth right now. They have more heavy hitters for reasonable cost vs other IEM that cost way more. But the real question is how this compares with all the competition so far? We still have the Kato's, Starfields, Aria, and the cheaper KZ10 Pro's.
We'll right now I'm still on a blind date and the more she keeps talking the better the night is getting since she took her coat off( I thought she was too big for me:)). But I can say right now, at least...as long as she doesn't have any surprise at home ...I am interested in a nightcap:). The Blessings 2 dusk reminds me of the Kato's with more refinement in frequency response, better imaging, and better fit and durability. So all and all it could just be the best $500 IEM ever made if this continues with the right results but I need more time to verify.
