When. I first got into the audiophile world my first earphone was rhe 58x and after 5 days I had the Sundara and shortly after that the 660s. And it wasn't because I was not happy with the 58x. I was just really just excited about hearing possibly better sound and better presentation. The 58x had the sound but not the look. The Sundara had the look but not the comfort, and the 660s kinda met things in the middle. It gave sound, looks, comfort, and stability. And so it was my endgame because it delivered a package that was what I wanted through and through
The moment I opened the Moondrop Kato...I knew it was what I dreamed it would be. I truly wanted nothing more from a package. The box, the case, extra filter, newly designed ear tips, even the very paperwork it came with. All of it was like candy to me. And all of this was before I even put them in my ears. They truly had me at hello:). And once I placed them in my ears and felt the weight, feel, and comfort it just became all world. But when the the sound for these dropped...it was like the universe dropped the gift of immorality into my lap. There is absolutely nothing I want more in the IEM'S than what has been delivered by Moondrop.
The Kato is the single best IEM(for me). Are there better? I'm sure there are plenty...but not for me. You can actually ask me for approval to buy me a better IEM and I would refuse the request even though they would be free, more expensive, or better sounding. I truly don't want more than what I have when it comes to IEM's. The vocal timbre, mids, treble, look, feel, comfort and soundstage is exactly want I wanted from a IEM.
