Well as it is with all my knives, I have a nickname for the blade. Only those worth my time in carrying gets them. I pick them for iconic characters I've seen on movies or in books that I have read. I also pick the names based on the look and overall feel from the knife that I get. Each knife has a story to tell, a fitted structure about itself shape or color. And so being that this particular knife is my top choice for my EDC I felt it was only fitting to give a name to it that has been about true power and magic. A name that has been with me for years in my fantasy worlds in my head since I was teenager. The name of Merlin! Merlin, who is quite simply one of the greatest magicians who ever lived in movies and folk lore. Growing up, that era was my first obsession. I used to dream of creating paintings of Merlin using his great power. It was the first thing I ever wanted to paint or draw. Things like Xcaliber and the Knights of the round table were always sources of wonder and strength for me. I loved that time period of swords and knights and so it shouldn't be a shock if and when I finally decide for this to the associated with something that means a lot to me today...my knives. And so amongst all other names giving to my knives it is fitting that this one name stands as the most important to me because this knife is important to me.
So important that I have place it as my core nucleus of irreplaceable items. Things like my Sig Sauer 2022, my Moondrop Blessing 2 dusk, and now this Banchmade mini Adamas ..aka Merlin falls into this triple threat. These are tech and items that I have tried multiple styles and was so blown away about this version that I went no further in buying anything else. This is what this Knife means to me.
